WHO WE ARE
Susan Platt is a government affairs expert with 30 years of success on the national, federal, state and local levels.
She has helped new emerging small businesses and international Fortune 500 companies with interests ranging from tax reform, high technology to agriculture and banking. She helps her clients to anticipate change and focus resources
with winning results.
Her work and contacts on Capitol Hill span the spectrum from District Office Outreach, Scheduler, to Chief of Staff to former Sen. Joe Biden.
In Virginia, Platt managed former Sen. Chuck Robb’s winning gubernatorial campaign against Oliver North. For this, her colleagues nationally awarded her the “Pollie Award” for Campaign Manager of the Year.
And in a recent campaign for Lt. Governor, Susan Platt captured the fourth highest vote total in any Democratic Primary for Lt. Governor in the history of the Commonwealth of Virginia despite merely a 4-month race and being outspent by 4 to 1.

Ron Platt has over 40 years’ experience in all levels of government, community relations and as a
corporate executive. Ron chaired the federal lobbying practice at the Washington offices of two national
law firms, and under his leadership, both reached the top 15 firms in federal lobbying revenue in
The National Journal chose him as one of the top 25 Democratic lobbyists in Washington, D.C.
Ron served as a senior staff member for former chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance and
Secretary of Treasury Lloyd Bentsen (D-TX) and earlier to the former chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Congressman Jack Brooks (D-TX).
During a conference committee, he was the primary author of what became the Work Opportunity Tax
Credit. This rewards corporations for hiring economically disadvantaged individuals including veterans. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Ron was an assistant professor of political science at Lamar State
University (Beaumont TX). Later he was chief-of-staff to the late Lt. Governor of Virginia, J. Sargeant
Initially, after leaving the Hill, he was senior vice president for corporate relations at Burger King
Corporation where he was responsible for both government relations and community and franchisee
relations. He served on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations including a well-known South Florida modern dance company. He currently serves on the statewide steering of the Addiction Policy Forum.
Ron has worked in corporate government affairs since leaving Capitol Hill in 1981. He has extensive
experience representing US-based corporations, non-US based corporations and foreign governments. Some of his clients have included ADP Corporation, Trump Hotels and Casinos, Campbell Soup Company, Dynavox, Malta and the Washington Redskins.
